Sotong Pak Ali

Today I want to share about my father's business. It's been a 20 years ago, one years after I've got breathing in this world my father started his business in Pudu Market.

The location of business is Pudu Wet Market. Address: Jalan Pasar Baru, 55100 Kuala Lumpur. 5 minute walking distance from Pudu LRT Station. This 60 years old market is the biggest wet and dry market in Kuala Lumpur with more than one thousand and five hundred in-door and open-air stalls (my father business is on open-air stall) selling every foodstuff you can name it in a small plot of land. the market is a very vibrant and lively place from as early 3 am and it becomes more frantic during the rush in the early morning. shopper and porters have to forcing their way through the crowds without outrageous loads. The place is not a normal tourist attraction expect for those adventurous tourists who want to explore Asian Chinese authentic and chaotic market experiences.

Obviously, my father sell two species of the squid. It is comes dry and with a special processes that the squid will turn squid into wet (like pictures shown below).

This species of squid imported from Korea. Many customer buy this kind of squid for Chinese food which is 'Yong Tau Foo'. Of course most of the customer are Chinese. It is a large and beauty squid. Pak Ali sell this squid RM12.00/kg which is the lowest price available in Pudu Market. hewhew. Pak Ali is a very kind person. Like father like daughter.

This is another species that imported from Vietnam. It is neutrally comes with dark color. There have many sizes of this species. But obviously my father sell a medium size. The price is more cheaper than species before. Pak Ali sell it RM8.00/kg. It is more sweet and delicious compare to the first species. This species is Malay favorite choice. 'Sotong Sambal' is the most popular menu for this squid. Plus it will be the awesome dish when you eat it with 'Nasi Lemak'.
Wahhhhhh! So Delicious!

So people, come to Pudu Market which my father stall is the first stall at Pudu Market. Ask for discount and you won't regret it!

Warning: Beware of pick pocket racket.
